ISO/IEC 17025

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 specifies the general requirements for the competence to carry out tests and/or calibrations, including sampling. It covers testing and calibration performed using standard methods, non-standard methods, and laboratory-developed methods.


ISO/IEC 17043

ISO/IEC 17043:2010 specifies general requirements for the competence of providers of proficiency testing schemes and for the development and operation of proficiency testing schemes. These requirements are intended to be general for all types of proficiency testing schemes, and they can be used as a basis for specific technical requirements for particular fields of application.


ACLASS provides accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 for testing and calibration laboratories, ISO/IEC 17020 for inspection bodies, ISO Guide 34 for reference material producers, and ISO/IEC 17043 for proficiency testing providers. ACLASS also provides ISO 17025 training and training on other topics. ACLASS is internationally recognized by ILAC, APLAC, and IAAC as a signatory of multilateral recognition arrangements that facilitate acceptance of test and calibration data internationally. ACLASS is one of three brands of the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides accreditation services to public- and private-sector organizations and is jointly owned by the American National Standards Institute and the American Society for Quality.
