About Lake Balance

Dave Griffith started Lake Balance Company in June of 1986, after moving to Madison, OH from Oxford, MA. What began as a focused weighing and balance service has grown into a full calibration and proficiency testing laboratory serving labs nationwide.

In 2003 the company began doing business as Lake Balance & Calibration Services. In 2004 Lake Balance earned its first ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation — establishing a culture of documented quality and measurement traceability that continues today.

Our technicians bring more than 70 years of combined experience and have been trained by manufacturers including Mettler, A&D, and Rice Lake. We provide ISO/IEC 17025:2017 calibrations of balances, moisture analyzers, scales, weights, pipettes, and temperature instruments.

Lake Balance was the first company to provide ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificates for pipettes — extending accredited calibration into a discipline that many labs previously treated as informal.

Today we operate from 7722 Metric Drive, Mentor, OH, with current PJLA accreditations L22-566-1 (ISO/IEC 17025 / ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 calibration) and L22-566-3 (ISO/IEC 17043 proficiency testing).
