Description

The primary purpose of this PT is to provide an opportunity for participants to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a Class F weight set. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement parameters associated with weights of similar size and weight class.

Sample instructions

To complete this PT you will need a balance set to grams that has a capacity of 500 g or more. When you receive the test weight box marked MASS-113 please allow 24 hours before the test to acclimate to room temperature.

  1. Open the test weight box marked MASS-113.
  2. Measure 50 g weight per your normal calibration procedures and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  3. Measure 100 g weight per your normal calibration procedures and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  4. Measure 200 g weight per your normal calibration procedures and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  5. Measure 200* g weight per your normal calibration procedures and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  6. Measure 500 g weight per your normal calibration procedures and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  7. Email results and your uncertainty budget to proficiency@lakebalance.com
  8. After you've received your completed test results return to Lake Balance Calibration Solutions.
