Description

Temperature probe / thermometer proficiency test. Compare measurements against Lake Balance reference values with En scoring.

Sample instructions

To complete this PT you will need a temperature well that can generate from 0°C to 100°C and a temperature probe that has a readability of 0.001°C. When you receive the test temperature probe box marked TEMP-119 please allow 24 hours before the test.

  1. Calibrate the thermometer with your temperature well and fill out a calibration report like you would for a customer. Use Lake Balance Calibration Solutions as the customer.
  2. Then open the test temperature probe box marked TEMP-119.
  3. Set the temperature well to 0°C, allow it to stabilize at that temperature, and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  4. Set the temperature well to 25°C, allow it to stabilize at that temperature, and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  5. Set the temperature well to 50°C, allow it to stabilize at that temperature, and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  6. Set the temperature well to 100°C, allow it to stabilize at that temperature, and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  7. Email results and your uncertainty budget to proficiency@lakebalance.com
  8. After you've received confirmation the PT set is good to return, return to Lake Balance Calibration Solutions.
